Description:
The Youth Minister will develop and implement an ongoing faith formation program for the parishioners of middle and high school age. The Youth Minister will encourage the parish’s youth to build a strong faith by providing creative spiritual, social, and service opportunities. The time commitment is 10 hours per week on average although this would fluctuate and would include occasional overnights. The Youth Minister reports directly to the Pastor.
Additional hours could be available for a candidate with interest or experience in Young Adult Ministry, or other areas of parish ministry.
Requirements:
Strong prayer life and religious practice guided by the Gospel and lived in a Catholic faith community. Knowledgeable of Scripture and systematic, liturgical and moral theology. Effective leader and communicator. Understanding of contemporary youth culture and the spiritual need of teenagers. Collaborative in approach to ministry.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field, or experience working in ministry with youth is preferred.
