Description:
Assemble a religious education staff; provide the staff with formation; involve parents in the religious education process; work directly with children who enroll in the religious education program.
1) Establish a RE Program and Syllabus for each grade. 2) Identify suitable catechists, work with them to ensure certification, provide them with manuals and supplies. 3) Work with pastor / administrator to establish an Advisory Board. 4) Plan the annual RE Program calendar. 5) Oversee registration of students and collection of tuition / sacramental fees. 6) Assist with preparation of First Communion and Confirmation Liturgies. 7) Assist with arranging of reconciliation services at Advent and Lent. 8) Service opportunities for eighth grade confirmation. 9) Arrange confirmation and first communion retreats. 10)Prepare RE section of parish annual report. Effective Period: August 15, 2017-June 30, 2018. Hours: Sundays, 8:00 am - 11:30 am, September through May;
some weekday evenings. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
To provide quality religious education to grade school students who attend public school and work with St. Mary’s school principal and staff in parish sacramental preparation.
