Description:
Director or Coordinator will implement a plan for comprehensive education for levels 1st Grade-High School and adult faith formation program in accord with the parish mission and archdiocese policies and the charism of the Salesians of St. John Bosco. Will recruit, train, and supervise catechists and support staff. Responsible for catechist formation in accordance with Archdiocesan requirements; record keeping of catechist certification hours, assist in Virtus training requirements for catechists and volunteers; handle all aspects of sacramental preparation relative to the program, such as parent meetings, scheduling, calendar planning, maintaining of sacramental records, etc. Knowledge of catechetical curriculum, sacramental theology, resource materials, budgeting, parish and diocesan policies are essential. Will oversee RCIC and RCIA and SPRED.
Requirements:
Candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic with strong organizational and administrative skills. Prefer a degree in theology or other related field relevant to position - will also consider Certified Catechist or someone willing to continue his/her education to attain certification. Compensation based on educational background. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a must.
