Description:
The Coordinator of Youth Ministry supports the pastor in implementing a comprehensive program for high school teens in light of the goals of the USCCB and the Parish Prophetic Plan. The youth minister plans, implements, and evaluates a program that includes active youth engagement in parish liturgy, faith formation, and service to the parish and larger community. The primary objective of this position is to build upon, assess, and continuously improve the parish outreach to youth, providing leadership in guiding parish youth to live a Catholic Christian life in today's culture. The youth minister accomplishes this in collaboration with parish staff, adult volunteers, and youth leaders whom the youth minister recruits, develops, and supports. The youth minister develops relationships with youth and their families that inspire and encourage ongoing growth in living an active faith.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in relevant field. Willing to acquire Archdiocesan Catechist Certification. Two to three years experience with youth ministry and development of youth ministry programs.
