Weekend Maintenance Worker

Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning:

• Responsible for sweeping, mopping, vacuuming classrooms, gymnasium, Parish Hall, hallways, stairways, scrubbing tables and desktops, emptying trash cans, sanitizing washrooms, and washing windows.

Grounds Upkeep:

• Duties include mowing grass, trimming bushes, weeding, removing debris from campus, setting up traffic cones.
• Support snow removal needs during the winter season to ensure safe conditions for all parishioners, school personnel, and visitors.

Maintenance:

• Replenish toiletry supplies, replace batteries for smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, change light bulbs, as necessary.
• Set up and break down tables and chairs for activities in church, school, and parish facilities.
• May be given various other assignments and projects consistent with the responsibility level and general duties of position.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of General High School matter including basic Math and English skills is required.
• High school graduate, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of experience in maintenance or a related area required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures of facilities and grounds maintenance.
• Familiarity in basic PC skills: email, Internet access preferred.

Other Required:

• *Valid Driver’s license.
• Lift, push/pull 50lbs.
• Climb ladders and stairs as necessary.
• Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.

Requirements:

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS:

• Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings.
• Additional hours up to a total of 25 hours per week possible.
