Job Title – Youth/Young Adult Minister Hours – Full-time, benefited Parish – St. Isidore Catholic Church, 427 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale, Il 60108 Start a Great Career with a Great Purpose! General Description: Young Adult = Persons of ages 18-30 The focus of this ministry is to gather young adults to share and develop spiritual growth and aid in the understanding of the importance of building relationship with church family and friends Youth/Young Adult Minister will be a member of the Pastoral Staff and report directly to the Pastor and Director of Administration and will collaborate with the Director of Adult Formation and Coordinators of Connect Youth Ministries. In this role, you will…… • Recruit, involve and engage young adults in small discussion groups with a focus on spiritual growth and deeper knowledge of the bible • Plan special events that develop a closer sense of Catholic family within the church • Plan and execute Young Adult ministry events and retreats • Bring creativity and artistry to the group environments • Strategic direction and implementation of Young Adult Ministries • Develop effective teams to support and grow Young Adult Ministries • Other duties as assigned General Description: Youth = Persons of ages 12-17 Youth Minister for St. Isidore’s Connect Youth Ministry (CYM) is responsible for a parish based pastoral ministry with teens (grades 7-12) who reaches out to youth in the community, empowering young people to live as joyful disciples of Jesus Christ. The primary objective of this position is to develop and implement a comprehensive model of youth ministry that responds to the needs of teens in our parish, encouraging young people to share their unique gifts with the larger community. In this role, you will…………. • Work with CYM Co-Coordinators on teen formation program in regards to special presentations, summer mission trips, service projects, and obtaining guest speakers • Work with CYM Co-Coordinators on monthly Teen Masses, arranging various topics relating to Gospel reading and work with teens on mass preparation • Coordinate with CYM Coordinators on Confirmation Retreat • Coordinate the recruitment, training, and support of Youth Leadership team • Re-instate and oversee retreats, such as Discovery and Kairos • Be present in the Parish Community through liturgical and social activities • Arrange summer mission trips and service projects • Leadership Development – attending NCYC, Steubenville, Just 5 Days etc. • Community Building and Evangelization of parish teens (i.e., teen dances, lock-ins, teen spiritual nights, etc.) • Other duties as assigned If interested in this amazing opportunity, please send resume to Dan Tobin at dtobin@stisidoreparish.org.

Requirements:

Required • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and other staff enrichment sessions • Participate in monthly Diocesan and/or Deanery meetings • Communicate with staff on events and activities • Develop a leadership team within the ministry to assist with plans and implementing activities • Be a resource regarding Young Adult collaboration with other parish ministries • Attend workshops/seminars for spiritual and professional development Qualifications: • Must be a practicing Catholic who supports the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and acts as an example and role model • Bachelor’s degree in related field or National Credential (certificate) in Youth Ministry or a background in theology and educational methodologies with a willingness to move toward credential or degree • Proficient in Microsoft Office and appropriate social media • Excel in written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills and a strong ability to multi-task • Able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekend hours PHYSICAL ABILITIES THAT ARE COMMONLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB(1) • The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
