Description:

*Previous experience as a Food Service Aide, preferred; *Familiar with all aspects of working in the food service department; *Maintain sanitation standards within the food service areas; *Ability to work in collaboration with the food service team; *Possess excellent customer service skills; *Ability to push, pull and lift objects weighing 50 pounds; *Ability to stand for long periods of time; *Ability to bend, stoop or squat; *Ability to follow job sequence; *Ability to deal with the stress of the job; *Good hand/eye coordination in the use of appliances; *Ability to concentrate on details with some interruptions; *Ability to make changes in plans to respond to needs of sisters *Serv Safe Certification required; *High school diploma or equivalent; Working Conditions: *Work flexible hours including regular weekend rotation and holidays; *At times, the kitchen can be noisy and extremes in temperature can be experienced; *Use of sharp instruments and various appliances; *Exposed to laundry/dishwashing detergents and chemicals.

Requirements:

In light of the CSJ Mission, Charism and Generous Promises, the Food Service Aide is responsible for assisting in all dietary functions including meal prep and set up; washing dishes, pots and pans; and the cleanliness of the Food Service areas. Essential Functions: *Ability to follow oral and written directions; *Correctly prepares, sets up and maintains all menu items for serving table; *Capable of working alone to maintain a steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans; *Demonstrate safety rules in the kitchen and other areas; including correctly operating food service equipment; *Complies with food service sanitation standards and proper food handling; *Maintain sanitized and clean work areas in the kitchen, scullery and serving areas; *Report equipment malfunctions to manager or supervisor on a timely basis; *Ensure proper storage, labeling and dating of all food items; *Rotate stock according to FIFO method; *Perform all related and miscellaneous functions as assigned and required in the LaGrange Park Center.
