Description:
Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, a regional Catholic elementary school of 500+ students in Orland Hills, Illinois, is seeking a new Principal to begin July 1, 2020. Supported by four parishes, CJB is a two-time Blue Ribbon award winner, and well on track for #3. The school was founded in response to robust parent desire for Catholic education in the area, and opened in 2000 with all new, state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
The new Principal of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School will
• be strong in faith and committed to the mission and ministry of the school.
• be a practicing Catholic who evidences knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith.
• embrace and exemplify the Catholic identity of the school.
• keep faith alive and growing.
• be visible and engaged with all constituent groups, and supportive of Catholic teachings.
• have a master’s degree or further in school administration and have state certification in both teaching and administration.
• have a minimum of three years (full time) professional experience in a Catholic school, e.g., teacher or administrator.
• have, be working toward or willing to pursue certification as Coordinator of Religious Education as stipulated by the Office of Catholic Schools.
• provide strong leadership to faculty and staff, particularly in the areas of curriculum, development and implementation.
• possess strong communication skills.
• understand current technology and marketing trends.
