Description:

The Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel of the Augustinian Order has an immediate opening for a full-time Accounting/Administrative Assistant in their Treasurer’s Office. Location: Small office located in Hyde Park, very accessible by the Millennium Electric (ME) Metra line and CTA. Covered parking is provided. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. Requirements:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include: •Assist in all accounting operations within the Treasurer’s Office, such as: processing Accounts Payable; check processing; record cash deposits; bank reconciliations; preparation of journal entries and financial statements; payroll functions; and assisting in development of annual budgets. •Maintain Province Database (Update time-sensitive statistics on memberships, autos, Social Security, healthcare, etc.) •Serve as Administrator of Province Insurance with Christian Brothers. This includes property, casualty, liability, and auto insurance. •Receive, review, and input all financial data into QuickBooks from the monthly reports received from OSA communities. •Prepare Treasurer’s letters for membership regarding financial reports and budget, and other reports to be submitted to the Treasurer’s Office. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: •Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality •Experience with QuickBooks a plus, but not required •Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) •Excellent communication skills
