Description:
Fenwick High School is a Catholic, private, college preparatory high school of 1,200 students located in Oak Park, IL. The School educates young men and women in the liberal arts and sciences. Fenwick High School’s mission is guided by Dominican Catholic values, inspires excellence and educates each student to lead, achieve, and serve.
The Campus Minister is a Roman Catholic working under the supervision of the chair of the Theology Department. The Campus Minister helps create an environment which encourages and guides all members to contribute to the Dominican and Catholic identity of the campus and to the formation of a faith community which responds to the spiritual needs of the students, staff, parents, and alumni. In collaboration with the administration, the Theology Department and the campus ministry team, the Campus Minister brings to life a campus rich in the School’s charism, spiritual growth, prayer, discipleship, sacramental experiences, social justice and preparation of leaders in service of the Church
Job Function:
1. To plan liturgical events, ceremonies and the daily prayer life of the school.
2. To recruit, train and coordinate Eucharistic ministers, lectors and altar servers.
3. To maintain the chapel, liturgy supplies, vestments, and equipment.
4. To implement and evaluate the Christian Service Project required by all juniors.
5. To direct student activities and groups related to deepening the school’s Catholic and Dominican identity e.g., the Fenwick Preaching Team, Dominican Connections, etc.
6. To facilitate vocation awareness among the students and faculty.
7. To assign chaplains to athletic teams and provide for the celebration of the Eucharist on certain occasions.
Requirements:
• The Campus Minister should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree but preferably one of the following degrees in Theology: M.Div., MA, MAPS, DMin, PhD.
• The number of years of experience will also be considered.
• Must have excellent administrative skills including great attention to detail, good organizational skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
