Description:

The Director of the HMRC is primarily responsible for the strategic planning, implementation and effective cross-coordination of all the initiatives. Main Accountabilities •Provides resources for pastoral agents in the Hispanic ministry areas of the organization. •Ensures quality of content and design of the department’s radio and bible programs and its bilingual publications through direction and collaboration. •Directs and supports the planning (scheduling), writing, editing, translating, and coordination of design and production activities for the bi-lingual publications. •Ensures cost effective and timely production of bilingual publications by collaborating with the Assistant Director in managing schedules and controlling costs. •Develops and implements strategies to increase the reach and effectiveness of existing bilingual publications and develop new outreach initiatives. •Supervises, develops and mentors the HMRC publications staff in order to fulfill the mission and goals of the Center. •Collaborates with the HMRC staff in effectively managing the HMRC websites. •Collaborates with the Assistant Director to produce ¡OYE! •Networks with Hispanic ministry leaders and organizations active in Hispanic ministry. Represents HMRC and the Claretian Missionaries (USA-Canada Province) at events. •Ensures ample external writing resources by establishing and maintaining contacts with authors. •Contributes editorial content for U.S. Catholic magazine focused on the Hispanic community and relevant topics. •Develops and maintains and reports the HMRC budget.

Requirements:

Qualifications •Excellent verbal communication, writing, and editing skills in both Spanish and English •B.A. in Theology and/or the Humanities with a concentration in Journalism •M.A. in Communications, Literature or Administration •In-depth knowledge of contemporary Catholic thought, tradition, and trends •5 plus years of professional experience in Hispanic ministry communications and management with a strong focus on publishing •Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
