Description:

The Director works to implement the Goals and Criteria and the philosophy of Sacred Heart education. S/he is responsible for: • Direct and steward the admissions process from point of inquiry through the student’s entry into the school community • Serve as an administrative liaison to families and feeder schools/organizations • Coordinate and participate in all events that market Josephinum Academy to prospective students and their families, primarily through school visits, fairs, tours, shadow days and open houses and school events • Strategize and implement recruitment process for internal families and prospective students and families • Strategize and implement recruitment process for internal families and prospective students and families • Support the Head of Advancement in the establishment and execution of admissions strategies through the evaluation of trends, critical measurements and partnerships. Adhering to the values, policies, and procedures set by the Archdiocese of Chicago, Sisters of Christian Charities, the Sacred Heart Network and the Board of Directors • Monitor and maintain applicant files and the admissions database • Supervise all admission assessments and stewarding an admissions process in collaboration with the Admissions Committee • Support prospective families through the financial aid/scholarship processes and making financial aid/scholarship decisions in collaboration with the Financial Aid/Scholarships Committee • Prepare and maintain statistics regarding enrollment, geographical distribution of students, student diversity, and attrition. Make recommendations to the Head of Advancement and President • Coordinate and participate in all recruitment communication efforts that connect Josephinum to prospective families: advertising, direct mail, Internet web page, etc. • Develop and steward good relationships with outside institutions or groups (schools, libraries, civic associations, nursery schools, real estate agencies, etc.) that can be helpful in attracting Josephinum students • Develop and implement an annual recruitment plan that correlates with a recommended department budget • Supervise the Admissions Office Staff/Volunteers, works with the school team to communicate admissions efforts internally • Prepare reports as required by the Principal, President, and Head of Advancement • Represent the Academy at professional associations and conferences • Attend school special events to further relations with key constituents for the Academy • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Advancement

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in education, admissions, or a related field • Bilingual: English and Spanish • Marketing sensibility, preference for proven outreach and recruitment campaigns • Thoughtful judgment and effective interpersonal skills • Excellent skills in oral and written communications • Strong management and organization skills • Experience in an admissions capacity within the Archdiocese of Chicago or Sacred Heart Network is a plus • Knowledge of International Baccalaureate learning programs is a plus • Ability to effectively present information to all constituencies of the school • Flexibility in adapting to change • Demonstrate excellence in communication both verbal and written with individuals and groups of people • Strong interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills • Able to maintain a results-oriented mindset to effectively work with people at all levels • Comfort with the technologies that support student record management, analytical reporting and marketing/communications • Ability to develop strong relationships with various school constituent groups
