Description:

The Interim Director of Religious Education is a professional catechetical who assists children of the Parish in their faith formation. This person must be a practicing Catholic and be committed to the authentic teaching of the Catholic Faith. Reporting to the Pastor, the Interim Director will provide a working environment where worship, prayer and learning are the common goals. -Administer and coordinate the RE program for approximately 950 children. -Oversee the development of the RE program from Pre-K through Grade 8. -Recruit & provide training & spiritual development for the RE Catechists. -Develop the RE program schedule of classes and activities. -Research & utilize all resources (AV,textbooks,liturgy materials) which complement the RE efforts in the Parish. -Schedule the faith formation opportunities for children, Catechists and parents, within the RE program calendar. -Schedule, coordinate and prepare children who are preparing for their First Holy Communion and Confirmation. -Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Parish Data System Faith Formation program. -Coordinate and work with Give Central (portal for tuition payments). -Ensure a safe environment which includes mandates for RE volunteers to be in compliance with the Office for Child and Youth Protection. -Meet with the pastor routinely to discuss matters relating to the RE program and sacramental preparation.

Requirements:

Bachelors and/or Masters degree in related field or extensive experience in faith formation. Computer literate and able to learn Parish Data System programs. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent language and communication skills required. Able to provide current State and Archdiocesan clearances.
