Description:
Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville, Illinois is seeking a part-time position (up to 30 hours a week) for a Director of Music. The qualified candidate will accompany, lead, and prepare appropriate music for weekend liturgies, Holy Days, weddings, funerals, quinceañeras, and other seasonal services. Other responsibilities include directing the adult and children’s choirs, collaborating with the parish staff, overseeing the participation of instrumentalists and cantors, and recruiting parishioners to participate in the music ministry program. Salary will be commensurate with expertise and experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in music is required in addition to a minimum of three years’ experience as Director of Music in a parish or other ministerial setting. Strong piano, conducting, and vocal abilities are necessary; organ proficiency is preferred. A candidate with excellent musical, interpersonal, and organizational skills, liturgical knowledge, and spiritual/pastoral leadership qualities are a must.
