Description:

1. Marketing, Recruiting and Relationship Management a. Strategically formulates and implements a successful national recruiting plan; b. Effectively maintains and analyzes contact data in the online contact database (through salesforce.com), particularly among prospective applicants, university/college contacts, alumni, donors, communities, and ministry site personnel; c. Is the first point of contact for prospective volunteers and applicants through the placement process; is accessible to any prospective volunteer or applicant with prompt and positive responses in all follow up to inquiries, questions, and/or concerns; d. Is responsible for maintaining and drafting content for DVUSA’s social media presence: dvusa.org, Facebook, newsletters, blog (Disputatio). 2. Community and Ministry Site Development and Monitoring a. Develops new ministry and community sites as needed through in-person meetings, presentation of program policies, coordinating contract reviews and signing, and overseeing the volunteer placement process; b. Conducts ministry site visits and interviews volunteers and site supervisors for feedback, responding as needed to concerns or conflicts; c. Ensures that community and ministry sites are fulfilling program requirements, including volunteer semi-annual evaluations; d. Creates orientation material for volunteers regarding ministry site culture and expectations. 3. Program Development and Delivery a. Provides leadership in developing program and organizational plans with the Board and staff that support DVUSA's mission and values; b. Measures and evaluates how well goals and objectives have been met; c. Ensures successful program initiation, planning, implementation and evaluation; d. Oversees/develops religious content for programming year consistent with Dominican charism; e. Coordinates preparation and logistics for three annual program retreats

Requirements:

Required Qualifications • Person of faith committed to Gospel values • Bachelor’s degree in related field. • At least five years of experience in the nonprofit or public sector. • Strong commitment to and passion for volunteerism and social justice. • Deep appreciation for diversity in all forms. • Familiarity with the Catholic Church and with religious life in community. • Strong organizational, planning, problem solving, and project management skills. • High degree of flexibility to achieve organizational objectives. • Demonstrated success building and leading collaborative, high-performing teams. • Excellent judgment, an ability to exercise discretion and tact in difficult or confidential situations and an ability to project a positive, professional image to stakeholders. • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate articulately and interact comfortably and effectively with staff, vowed religious communities, lay volunteers, funders, board members, and ministry site supervisors and directors. • Strong financial budgeting and forecasting skills. • Demonstrated fundraising success in as many of the following as possible: direct mail appeals, monthly donor campaign, grant proposal writing, event planning, major gifts and planned gifts. • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Strong proficiency with e-mail and web browser software.
