Description:

Full-Time Director of Faith Formation for High School and young adult ministry (18-39). The DYYAM develops and coordinates dynamic and age-appropriate programming that is aligned with current professional standards in ministry as well as parish goals, vision of the pastor, Diocesan standards, and community input. Candidate should collaborate well with other staff and exhibit strong communication skills. Previous experience with youth/young adult ministry and some weekend and evening hours (including Sunday evening liturgy) are required. Position Responsibilities: ? Develop scope and sequence for all faith formation programming for high school students, including preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. ? Assume leadership and implementation of the existing Journey Program for Confirmation through at least May of 2019. ? Encourage teen participation in parish ministries and activities as well as retreats, mission trips, and national conferences. ? Oversee appropriate training of catechists and other volunteers in ministry. ? Assume responsibility and leadership of the youth ministry budget and fundraisers. ? Plan programming for young adults (college, single, married, young families, etc.) both in collaboration with diocesan efforts as well as at the parish level. ? Participate in ongoing training. ? Use qualitative feedback to measure success of programs. Requirements:

Position Qualifications:  Practicing Catholic who lives a life consistent with Catholic beliefs and values.  Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies or a related field, or some form of specialized studies in youth ministry (e.g. Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies) strongly preferred.  Adept and proficient with Microsoft Office products.  Possesses a strong ability to multi-task and has a track record of strong project management skills.  Ability to comply with diocesan safe environment policies (successful completion of a criminal background check and ©VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children training).  Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
