About the Athletics Department: At Loyola Academy, more than 1,400 students participate in 34 different sports on over 80 teams. Athletics is a pivotal part of the Loyola experience for students and their families. Through participation in sports, our students grow and learn. To be physically fit is a central tenet of the Profile of a Jesuit High School Graduate at Graduation outcomes, and we make it clear that all Loyola students are called to care for their bodies by making healthy life choices with a focus on becoming more fit.
About the Opportunity
Loyola Academy seeks a dynamic individual to fill the newly created position of vice president of athletics and fitness. This position reports to the president and is a member of the school’s executive leadership team.
The vice president for athletics and fitness will be responsible for the development, management, coordination and supervision of competitive athletic programming for all sports teams and intramural experiences. The vice president for athletics and fitness will oversee the development and implementation of a strategic plan for athletics at Loyola that is better integrated into the school’s Jesuit mission and consistent with the school’s overarching strategic plan. Additionally, the vice president for athletics and fitness will:
• Oversee all women’s and men’s athletic teams and ensure appropriate
compliance with all applicable standards.
• Oversee all levels of club teams and intramural programs.
• Evaluate, organize and manage Athletic Department staff.
• Improve processes related to the hiring, training, formation and
evaluation of coaches.
• Establish structures that allow students and parents to provide
feedback on their athletic experiences.
• Participate with school leadership in planning for future athletic
facilities, programs and services.
• Collaborate with other school departments, such as the Counseling and
Campus Ministry Departments, in an effort to provide care and support
for students.
• Work with the school’s Advancement Department on fundraising efforts,
especially in support of athletic programs.
• Serve as the chief spokesperson for the Athletic Department.

Requirements:
Qualifications
•A commitment to the Jesuit, Catholic mission of Loyola Academy and to his or her personal growth in these areas
•A bachelor’s or master’s degree required
•Eight-plus years of experience in a leadership role in an athletics department and as an athletic coach, or five-plus years of experience leading large complex organizations with a successful track record in operational excellence and efficiencies
•Experience with compliance policies, procedures and regulations
•Experience in hiring and evaluating staffs
