Description:
Marquette University is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Campus Ministry for Liturgical Programs. Primary responsibilities include: coordinate all Catholic liturgies and campus wide liturgical celebrations in collaboration with the director of liturgical music; mentor, train, and provide formation for student liturgical ministers; serve as a resource and leader, as appropriate, for ecumenical and interfaith prayer; oversee Catholic worship spaces; maintain communication and build relationships with key university and local church partners. A deep desire to accompany young adults on their faith journeys and commitment to an Ignatian pastoral context are crucial attributes of the successful candidate. S/he will collaborate closely with campus ministry and division of mission and ministry colleagues for the purpose of advancing the University’s mission. The Assistant Director in Campus Ministry for Liturgical Programs reports to the Director of Campus Ministry. This is a 10 month position.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Liturgy, or Pastoral Ministry; 3 years of university or related experience; proficiency in knowledge and implementation of Catholic ritual, worship and prayer; ability to teach lay liturgical ministers (e.g. in order to deepen their understanding of the Roman Missal and church documents); experience developing the liturgical life of a faith community (e.g. parish, university campus); working knowledge of Ignatian Spirituality; demonstrated competency in liturgical inculturation to serve the needs of a diverse worshipping community.
