Description:
St. Raphael Catholic Church, a parish of over 4,400 families in Naperville is seeking a faith-filled Catholic to serve as a full time Director of Children’s Religious Education. The Director of Children’s Religious Education serves as a visible leader in the parish community and assists the parish community in building a solid foundation of catechetical and faith formation ministry. The Director is responsible for communicating to parents about the importance of ongoing parental involvement and supporting parents in both their own ongoing faith formation and their role with their children. Recruit catechists and volunteers and provide training to increase their catechetical skills, spiritual growth and theological knowledge.
We are looking for an applicant with catechetical vision, creative energy and passion for God, as well as strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and supervisory skills. Job responsibilities include, but, are not limited to: management of religious education programming for 1st through 6th Grade, sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion and collaboration on other parish activities. Requirements:
A degree in education, theology or a related field is strongly preferred along with several years of experience in parish religious education leadership. A collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and good computer skills are also necessary.
