Position Summary:
The Director of the Office of Radio and Television oversees the Radio-TV staff in the production of radio programs, television programs and video productions about people, events and ministries in the Archdiocese of Chicago.  The Director is the primary writer and producer.  He/she produces and/or oversees the production of content that is distributed on the AOC’s social media platforms.  The Radio-TV Office executes webinars for various offices to streamline the process of pushing out information quickly and efficiently to their constituents. This office also is responsible for overseeing our two Educational Broadband Service licenses and the related multi-million-dollar Sprint contract with regards to compliance with Federal Communication Commission compliance guidelines.

  • Write and produce scripts and productions as needed --- TV programs, video packages, video specials, PSAs, radio programs, messages/reflections from the Cardinal
  • Oversee our relationships with the departments, offices and ministries that rely on our audio, video and social media services to help them effectively distribute their messages.
  • Continue to develop our effectiveness as a content provider by partnering with our public relations, Hispanic communications and social media staff.
  • Negotiate/arrange/oversee all contractual and non-contractual arrangements that assure a continued presence on radio, TV, YouTube and all social media platforms.
  • Responsible for oversight of the AOC’s Educational Broadband licenses, contracts that cover leased bandwidth to communications companies, and compliance with FCC regulations related to EBS licenses and related contracts.


  • Must be an excellent video producer having worked in a television news production environment, video production company or similar background.
  • Must have very high broadcast writing skills, specifically geared to writing for radio, television, video and social media.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the Catholic faith with an emphasis on the local Church.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to maintain quality, productive relationships with people both inside the Archdiocese of Chicago and the countless people we work with outside the AOC.
  • Must have solid managerial and leadership skills and experience overseeing a staff, managing budgets, negotiating contracts and working with multiple departments, agencies and ministries.
