Description:

Position Summary:

Facilitate the daily responsibilities and functions of the Archdiocesan Bank as they relate to serving the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Parishes, Schools and Agencies.  Primary areas of concentration will focus on the management of the capital project process, stock/mutual fund transfers and processing daily activity for the Archdiocesan Bank.

Responsibilities:

Capital Projects

  • Oversee the capital project process for Financial Operations through final construction payouts
  • Responsible for confirming sufficient funds on deposit with Archdiocesan Bank for capital project
  • Serve as Financial Operations liaison to all other departments within the Archdiocese
  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly Capital Project reporting

Stock/Mutual Fund Transfer

  • Guide donors as well as Parishes, Schools and Agencies through stock/mutual fund donation process
  • Receive, process and credit stock donations to appropriate recipients
  • Record all stock/mutual fund donations in Microsoft Access

Archdiocesan Bank and APC Treasury Activities

  • Establish, review and process all loans issued by the Archdiocesan Bank
  • Create check payments and Positive Pay file for Archdiocesan Bank
  • Enter wire transfers for the Archdiocesan Bank and APC
  • Research and report bank rates (CDs and savings account rates)

Archdiocesan Banking Resource

  • Provide guidance on banking related issues to Treasury and Banking Manager and other departmental managers
  • Address various daily banking issues related to deposits, loans and certificates of deposit
  • Advise key personnel such as Pastors, Principals and Business Managers on financial options with the Archdiocesan Bank

Resource Back-Up to Bank Facilitator and Investment Associate

  • Serve as back-up to Bank Facilitator which requires a well-rounded knowledge in areas of online banking, financial reporting and other related duties

Special Projects

  • Participate in special projects as needed, such as:
    • Research historical background on Archdiocesan Bank activities
    • Assisting with Jack Henry system upgrades and roll outs

Requirements:

  • College bachelor’s degree in finance or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Background in banking institution or financial operations
  • Working knowledge of banking software and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  • Demostrated ability to quickly adapt to new technology and software programs
  • 1 to 3 years of related work experience in financial or business institution
  • Strong customer service, verbal, written and public communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Track record of setting priotities in a complex environment while meeting transactional deadlines and the larger team goals and objectives
