Description:

The Parish Reporting & Support Manager leads the customer support efforts and financial reporting results for all Parishes in the Archdiocese. This position has the key role in ensuring a smooth operation of the financial controls, accounting and reporting processes and training and customer support across parishes to ensure a high level of quality and consistency. The manager leads a team of 1 – 3 individuals and is responsible for the parish reporting operations which includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Management
    • Directly manage Parish Operations Support team and indirectly support Operations Directors and Business managers at the parishes and schools.
    • Maintain a documented system of Parish accounting policies and procedures that support good local cost control and cost management behavior in the Parishes, promoting good financial disciplines and risk management processes.
    • Oversee vendor contract and outsourced functions that maintain the system for consolidation of Parish financial reports for al Parishes.
    • Lead and coordinate efforts with key Parish Finance & Administration staff and other AOC Departments, including the Directors of Vicariate Operations, Accounting Services Center, Turnaround teams, and the Finance Department.

 

  • Parish Budget and Annual Reporting Process
    • Maintain the master chart of accounts for Parishes. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions at the Parish and consolidated level.
    • Aid the Parishes in issuing timely and complete financial statements.
    • Coordinate the process parishes use to prepare the consolidated Parish Annual, Interim reports, and annual budget process including updating templates and reports to include cross-departmental input.
    • Provide financial analysis, as needed, for Parish assessments review, payroll requests, capital investments and grant support.

 

  • Training, Communications, & Support
    • Develop, oversee, and deliver the education, training and ongoing support to the Operations Directors and Business Managers at all parishes including systems, process, and leadership topics.
    • Coordinate twice monthly newsletters and maintaining process and procedure documentation on intranet.
    • Manage and maintain Parish Support Tracking System and Call Center for all Parish inquiries and requests.  Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure parishes receive timely and accurate responses through integrating a workflow for all departments to respond to Parishes in a more efficient manner.

 

 

Requirements:

    • College graduate, with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience.
    • Diverse knowledge of accounting, training and support system applications. 
    • Working knowledge of accounting and GAAP.
    • Knowledge and proficiency with QuickBooks in a hosted environment
    • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Skype
    • Not for Profit experience is a plus although not required.
