Position Overview

  • Manage AOC’s internal bank, ArchBank, operations and related team, overseeing its liquidity
  • Manage Treasury operations including cash management, bank relationships and day-to-day operations. 
  • Manage appropriate short/medium-term cash forecasting and liquidity management. 
  • Develop and implement initiatives to streamline, automate, and properly control the banking and ArchBank functions.
  • Lead and develop the banking team.  Implement processes to set and achieve individual/team goals, as well as assess performance of team members. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Arch Bank operations, ensuring ongoing stability and solvency of the internal bank. Manage Archdiocesan cash balances and related needs. 
  • Coordinate with the Parish Operations department to develop and monitor parish credit ratings, administer loans and deposits to/from parishes and schools and follow up with parishes as necessary.
  • Oversee day-to-day treasury operations, including treasury solutions and vendors.  Ensure liquidity is available in a timely manner to meet all payment obligations and continually evaluate cash flow efficiency and usage. 
  • Monitor and manage liquidity.  Coordinate with operations and other Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate cash forecasting and liquidity management, over short and medium time horizons. 
  • Contribute to and support ongoing vision/strategy, design, implementation of the treasury and banking transformation, to streamline, automate, and properly control these functions.   Implement policies and SOPs (standard operating procedures).  Enable Treasury/Investment/Banking operations through continuous evaluation of services and technologies. 
  • Provide tactical banking and treasury operations support, controls and/or shared services for the other Archdiocesan offices and parishes/schools, as needed, to ensure effective and efficient operations and proper internal controls.  
  • Ensure adequate financial controls over all banking and Arch Bank operations
  • Support debt covenant compliance and reporting requirements for bondholders and lending banks.
  • Support AoC Accounting & Reporting function in reconciliations, internal controls, audit processes, etc.
  • Lead and develop the banking team.  Implement processes to set and achieve individual/team goals, assess performance of team members, and develop employees.  Align the goals of the Treasury team to the Treasury needs of the Archdiocese.



  • 8+ years of experience in treasury operations, including Manager positions in a mid to large size organization.
  • Excellent cash management operational technical knowledge and an advance understanding of treasury management systems and banking services and systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial banking operations and lending practices.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting, advanced degrees in accounting, finance or business desired.
  • Experience managing treasury operations in not-for-profit organizations is preferred. 
  • Experience in shared service operations, end-to-end process, internal controls, and external audit are preferred. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills-ability to lead meetings with bankers, Finance and non-Finance members, building confidence and trust.  
  • Strong leadership and initiative-taking ability to assume independence and suggest opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to synthesize data and information into key messages, implications and recommended actions.
  • Experience supporting and leading transformational changes for operations and organizations.  Comfortable with dynamic/transforming environment.
  • Ability to set priorities in a complex environment and manage resources to meet priority goals and objectives.
  • Record of cross-functional consensus-building and coordination across functions.  
  • Strong people leader and record of building strong teams. 
  • Strong detail orientation and willingness to engage in detail as necessary, without sacrificing the overall perspective.
  • Major financial systems experience:  Microsoft Office suite; bank systems, Jack Henry or comparable; Lawson G/L or comparable, Hyperion/OneStream;
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethics in all operations and responsibilities.
