Description:

Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator coordinates meetings, programs and events organized by the Office of the Vicar for the Professional and Pastoral Development of Priests (VPPDP). 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the VPPDP with departmental and Archdiocese of Chicago meetings, events and programs for priests, including but not limited to:
    • Priest Leadership Programs
    • Pastoral Leadership Circles
    • Pastor Leadership Seminars
    • Seminars for Newly Ordained Priests
    • Notre Dame Preaching Academy and School Pastor Programs
    • Priest Days
    • Chrism Mass
    • Tri-Annual Convocation 
  • Assist in the research, organization, development and continuous updating of the internal webpage for priests
  • Provide administrative oversight of the grant-funded, Spiritual Directors Program for priests
  • Support the VPPDP in constructing, monitoring, and revising departmental budgets and their corresponding reports
  • Support VPPDP with internal and external communication and his professional and departmental calendars
  • Maintain an efficient system for managing departmental information

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in program and event management
  • Facility working with Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (required), plus Forms, Teams (preferred)
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail, especially in reviewing and producing communications to internal and external audiences
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Interacts effectively and diplomatically with others at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Works proactively and gets tasks accomplished with very little supervision
  • Effective, problem solver
  • Can set priorities and handle multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Exercises good judgement while maintaining professionalism and flexibility
  • Handles sensitive information with discretion
  • Demonstrates understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values
