Position Summary:

The Director of School Planning for Renew My Church (“Director”) provides intensive support for Catholic schools as they transition through the Renew My Church (“RMC”) parish grouping process. Working in tandem with the OCS and RMC staff, the Director provides particular support for schools as they progress through potential structural and operational changes, with a particular focus on strategic planning to help school leadership teams adjust to and plan for their future.

Responsibilities:

  • Engages deeply with Catholic schools during the Discernment-Decision phase of the RMC parish grouping process. Works with the OCS and RMC staff to integrate and consider school-focused data and dynamics. Informs proposed and submitted scenarios as they relate to Catholic schools. Facilitates a structured planning process for schools that authentically engages school stakeholders in the RMC process.
     
  • Works intensively with Catholic schools entering the Operational Transitions phase of the RMC parish grouping process. Convenes and facilities a structured planning process for schools as they envision and construct their new realities.
     
  • Provides ongoing troubleshooting for school-related issues as needed. When warranted, engages the Superintendent and/or other OCS staff in RMC-related issues.
     
  • Works with the Director of Communications for RMC to ensure a consistent positive flow of communications between the RMC staff, OCS, school leaders, and school stakeholders.
     
  • Attends RMC staff meetings, OCS staff meetings, Principal Leadership Days, and other meetings and events as requested.
     
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, or related field (Masters Preferred). Experience in strategic planning and professional facilitation.
     
  • Experience in education as an administrator, business manager, or similar field. Catholic school experience preferred.
     
  • Exceptional facilitation and inter-personal skills. Strong public speaking and written skills. Ability to problem solve and positively work through inter-personal conflict. Strong analytical skills. Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and activities simultaneously; ability to form and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
     
  • Ability to travel throughout the geography of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
     
  • Must be a practicing Catholic. Possess integrity, diligence, prudence, vision, sensitivity to diverse communities.
