Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Executes communication plans and content strategy that drives awareness, understanding, and engagement of pastoral center initiatives
     
  • Provides support to pastoral center teams, such as IT, Finance, HR, Legal for project-level communications
     
  • Supports our Renew My Church communication activities, which seek to inform and inspire clergy, staff, and parishioners amidst large-scale spiritual and structural renewal of our parishes and schools
     
  • Manages development and delivery of routine internal communication channels
     
  • Manage editorial calendars and creates content for a variety of platforms including Archdiocesan intranet, newsletters, parish bulletins, etc.
     
  • Collects, monitors and analyzes feedback to appropriately adjust messages and communication tactics
     
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of communication processes and tools
     
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of and support for the mission, teachings, and liturgical life of the Catholic Church
  • Commitment to our pastoral center values of discipleship, community, service, excellence, and hope
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to write content for diverse platforms and audiences
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel locally within Cook and Lake Counties preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism or related field preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint Online, Google Analytics, Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator, and video editing skills a plus
