Basic Function

The Business Analyst is responsible for leveraging IT best practices and data-driven decision making in order to oversee the selection, design, and implementation of software and hardware resources. S/he will also be responsible for translating business needs into IT solutions taking into account a wide-range of Archdiocese programs and priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze business and IT requirements from a wide range of stakeholders
  • Partner with business SME’s, Project Managers, and IT SME’s to ensure projects meet scope, time, and cost requirements
  • Collaborate with IT Project Managers to carry-out project tasks needed to complete key portions of IT work
  • Evaluate and test current and prospective hardware, software, and IT processes
  • Design and test reporting required by business partners, in partnership with IT developers
  • Create testing plans and facilitate testing of system / application enhancements or new systems / applications
  • Conduct root-causes analyses and lessons learned and use the data to inform IT process and policy improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Engineering, Project Management or related field
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and a focus on data consistency are key
  • 3+ years working on complex IT projects
  • 3-4+ years experience in technology development and deployment
  • 3-4+ years experience serving as a liaison between senior leadership, business partners and IT department
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Microsoft 365 and Sharepoint a plus
  • Experience with SQL a plus
