Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant for the Office for Religious (OFR) will be responsible for providing support and coordination to the Director of the Office for Religious. This position will be responsible for maintaining and composing correspondence, responding to requests, coordinating and scheduling meetings and events.


  • Provides support for the Vicar for Religious
  • Helps with various activities of the OFR as needed
  • Assists with communication with all internal and external audiences


  • Handles correspondence needs of the Vicar for Religious and OFR in general as needed
  • Assists with OFR files maintenance including archives
  • Helps with scheduling meetings for the Vicar for Religious
  • Works with the team in coordinating events


  • Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values
  • Willing to learn the diversity of charisms and forms of consecrated life
  • 3+ years of experience in an Administrative support role
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail, especially in reviewing and producing communications to internal and external audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels internally and externally, especially with Religious Communities of men and women
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to set priorities; handle multiple assignments and deadlines, and to display solid judgment while operating in a flexible and professional manner
  • Proficiency in spelling, grammar, punctuation and proofreading
  • Discretion when dealing with highly sensitive information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and observe protocols
  • Spanish proficiency will be considered a plus but not required

Preferred: an experienced religious individual with administrative experience who loves religious life and can work within an institutional setting.
