Description:

Responsible for content coordinating, formatting, content development, design and ongoing expansion of the Archdiocesan Website. Ensures that the information is posted in a timely manner, proactively recommends improvements to the Website, and collaborates with other agencies and ministries of the Archdiocese on Website content development. Maintains Website within budget parameters and in a manner reflecting the mission and message of the Catholic Church DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develops and implements a Website content strategy in conjunction with the Office of Parish Vitality and Mission, Department of Communications and Archdiocesan leadership. * 2. Collaborate with those agencies and ministries that have a Website.* 3. Works closely with Department of Communications in website content development. 4. Participates in Archdiocesan-wide web-based planning. * 5. Responsible for completing multiple projects in a timely manner. 6. Recommends the use of specialized vendors to assist in content implementation. 7. Manages the development and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets for Archdiocesan Website. * 8. Continually evaluates content of Website and recommends changes in digital strategy, including social-media strategy. 9. Responsible for creating and enforcing Archdiocesan Website standards, policies and procedures in consultation with Department of Communications 10. Monitors and assesses site utilization. 11. Works with IT in developing and obtaining computer hardware and software to implement web-based strategies. 12. Carries out various web-related assignments as called upon by the Archbishop of Chicago and/or Senior Administrative staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Fine Arts, Communications or Graphic Design. One to two years experience maintaining a Website, preferably as Webmaster. Strong communication abilities to interact with colleagues and clients. Excellent eye for design and intimate understanding of design elements. Proficiency in content-management systems (e.g., WordPress, Liferay, etc.). Familiarity with SEO principles. Familiarity with social-media engagement strategy and implementation (Buffer, etc.). Excellent multimedia content development abilities
